Check again, the 4dr 5-lug does have fender flares.

I may be wrong? But has anyone seen one? This is news to me. I read it would only be available in the base model as a dbl cab, with an auto only. I even did a search locally and it said not available? As mentioned earlier, can it be only available in certain regions? Who has one?
I would love to recommend a 4 cyl Prerunner Dbl Cab vs a 4 cyl Base Dbl Cab to the OP or anyone with needs like him just because...

Here are the models I found for the dbl cab 4 cyl, the 7182 which seems to be the base, and the 7186 which seems to be the Prerunner. You guys are right. I stand corrected.:) I found this info on the Toyota National site. It did not come up doing a regional search for me? Anyway, since they are not listed with photos, I am assuming they have not hit the ground yet. I attached a link to a truck I built on the site with the SR5 package...

If your going to keep it for 10+ years, you may need to tow or haul stuff in the future. I know I would, so I would get the 4.0 V6 because it's better to have it for the price differance in my opinion. In fact, if I were in the market for an '11, I would probably buy this one...

Already lifted with rear TSB with weather techs and Beautiful MGM for a pretty good price. Thats what I would do, but thats me.

As a four banger owner get the six. I love my truck off road, does exactly what I want it to do. Sucks on pavement. Gas mileage is not that big of a difference from the six.

$2000 difference over 10+ years is less than or equal to 200/year or less than $15/mo.

not to finance. but conceptually. over 10 years 2000$ aint that much if the v6 is truly what the OP wants.

Thought about buying the same truck (Double Cab 4 banger). I'm very practicle, have two small kids, and drive 40 minutes to work everyday so the 4 seemed like a good fit for me. After going back and forth with it for a while, I went with the 6 and am very glad I did. I just didn't want to regret buying the 4. As far as mpg goes, I average about 19 and this is pretty much in stop and go driving. The 4 wouldn't really get that much better so to me it seemed kind of pointless. Plus theres some weight there with the double cab, I feel it driving up hills even with the 6. Add any type of weight in the bed going up hill and I'd hate to be in a 4.

    Just my opinion

I went with the 2.7L in a Access Cab because I hate fender flares!

If the PreRunner's fender flares were an option, I would probably have gotten a PreRunner Access Cab with the 2.7L.

The 2.7L does fine hauling me and my shit around. I'll be heading up to Big Bear from San Diego tomorrow with a full bed of stuff so I will see how the truck handles that...

BTW: I took my 93 4Runner with the 3.0 V6 and 2WD last year up to Big Bear from SD with a passenger and the interior absolutely packed and managed to use 3 tanks of gas to make it there.:D
