2006 TRD Off-Road with 49K miles, owned since day 1. Went to go start the truck and it turned over three times and gave up the ghost....starter click!

Jump started the truck, drove it around for an hour and then parked it. Went to start it again and same ol', same ol'....

Optima Yellow Top is going in tomorrow, unless somebody thinks this idea sucks and has a better idea?!?

    Thanks.

I had a yellow top in my old Toyota truck and was pretty happy with it. Its downfall came about three years after buying it when it started to lose its charge. Any deep cycle battery should be fine, I heard that Interstate Batteries weren't too bad.

    getting there....
you may be a little better off by going with a red top battery. its not like a marine battery, so its not a deep cycle really, plus, if you have accessories like lights and all, it can handle that stuff pretty good too. i think the yellow tops are more for marine applications too. just a thought.

I ran an interstate battery in my Scout II and my Suburban. The Scout had a power leak (something kept grounding out randomly) that would drain the battery. Charge it back up - no problem. The Suburban probably still has that battery in it in a junk yard somewhere (got rear=ended).
