I'm asking YOU personally, what you think are some good start off mods that can drastically change the look of a tacoma; interior or exterior. I'm currently saving up to make some bigger mods i.e. wheels, tires, suspension, etc. While I'm saving up I would like to spend some money that I have set aside for small, cheaper mods. Any help would be great. Pictures to go with the suggested items would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

P.S. Love the site so far. Everyone I've talked with has been exceptionally nice.

Pinstripes can look pretty nice and are not very expensive.

Welcome! I would reccommend a OEM bed mat and the anytime fog light mod for cheap useful mods.

    Yikes, Where to start....

you can look through this if you dare. Lots of good stuff. But lots of cheep mods gets expensive fast.

Anyway, MY personal favorite mods that are relatively cheep that can make a huge difference in appearance/functionality would be:

Neoprene (or other fabric) Arm rests
Painting the switch panels and speaker covers black
    Painting the raido surround black
DIY Satoshi (if you or a friend have the skill/tools/time)
LED dome light mod+ the map lights on with dome lights mod
Debadge and/or paint and relocate badges
Weathertech Floor liners, vent shades, and bug deflector
    LED bed lights mod
    Locking bed storage compartments
    Extra D rings in bed
    Redline Tuning Hood Struts
    Engine Bay LED mod
    Rear differential breather relocation
    Seat/center console flashlight mounts
    LED Cup holder lights.

Most if not all of that stuff can be seen in my build page, just click the picture in my signature. And most of the threads I used to do the mods can be found in the link I gave you above.

Happy Modding. And if you have questions, dont hesitate to ask. Welcome to TW.

Debadging and removing the mud flaps cleans it up nicely and it's free. The list is endless, just depends how much you want to spend.

Plasti-dipped grille surround, rear bumper, and badges, short antenna (cheap), shortened front mudflaps
I just bought a 2012 and don't have the balls to do most of the stuff these guys do. I went Plastidip crazy one weekend. Derped the stock steel wheels, badges, front grill surround, and the rear bumper. I also picked up a short antenna from AutoZone, but it's a piece of shit and my radio sucks now. It was $8, it's staying for now. I'll eventually order a better one. I saving every penny to get wheels and tires.

Some of the stuff isn't too hard. I really want to try the Satoshi, but - no balls.

Everyone on this site is awesome, and willing to help. I've spent countless hours on here.

You need to give it a go, Even if you mess up a new color matched grill is less than $200 on line.

As you said a lot of help here on the site. Do not be afraid to PM another member and ask questions.

Won't do much for looks, but the center console lock is a must. Cheap, very easy, and extremely useful.

I personally love the yellow fog lights (if you have them). I don't have a pic of mine, but look up at LUSETACO's sig. you can do it several ways, I prefer just changing to yellow bulbs, easy to do and can easily be switched back with no problems.

The 2012 is a whole nother animal when it comes to the Satoshi. Or so I understand anyway. Last I checked Homertaco was still working out the best way to do it. But for 11's and older, you can always buy a cheep unpainted replacement to try it out, and if you like the outcome, have the outer surround painted and you are good to go. That was how I did mine. Just picked up a 05-10 grille replacement for cheep, some pre fabed mesh from homertaco and after I was done with the cutting and attaching the mesh I had it professionally color matched. Tried the Duplicolor spray but it didnt match up so good. Heard people had better luck with the Red or Black. Which would make it even cheaper. Best case you like the result and you sell the factory grille, worst case you screw up the cheapo grille and you still have the stock one. You're out 40 ish bucks.
