2600 mile round trip.. what to take?

taking my 2012 trd sport (auto) from WV to OK at the end of march and will be making the return trip at the end of april... it's roughly 1250 miles one way. The truck has 6333 miles right now and had it's first service at 5k as recommended (and will have it's second service at 10k as recommended and free with toyota care). Also have toyota road side assistance.

I have a full size inflated spare tire (factory), 2 good flash lights, rugs, sleeping bag, tow straps, bungie straps, hand tools, hammer, rubber gloves, fishing string, paracord, duck tape, breaker bar with socket to fit my lug nuts, tow strap (very good one), cluster hook, heavy duty 15 foot chain, light 25 foot chain with pad lock, small can of WD40, can of fix a flat, tire repair kit, bic lighter, pry bar/very large flat head screw driver, head lamp, napkins, kleenex's, sunglasses, side walk chalk, 15x15 feet of sheet plastic ,spare eye glasses, a few knives, small multitool. Ipod mount for windshield (for gps use) and old school back up garmin GPS (for no cell signal.. maps are outdated but would work). 3x8 foot piece of cardboard folded up to 3x1 foot (country creeper).

that's all in there for daily use.. the only thing i can think of is to check the oil, tire pressure, coolant, power steering fluid, and washer fluid before leaving. Hope i wouldnt have problems needing spare belts or hoses with a less then 10k mile truck. Will probably buy and throw in a small floor jack...

what else should i take for the road trip? Last time i did the same trip in a 04 GTO and didnt have any hic-ups. will probably load up container and throw in the bed with things i 'could' use.

going to buy one of these containers

http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd...d-storage.html

because it will fit under the tonneau cover... should i leave the tonneau cover on or change to my bestop soft topper?

thanks for the advice in advance... looking forward to hearing the good ideas.

Don't forget Condoms, lots of $1 & $5 bills incase you stop at a strip club. Also a blowup doll (for the carpool lane). Three French hens, two turtle doves and a woman to keep you warm at night and that should do it.

All kidding aside you seem ready for anything. I would get a CB, I like to have a gun but that's just me. The CB is a good idea.

I Haven't packed anything for long trips and my truck has been all over the country from Asheville, NC to Las Vegas without even a hiccup.

Toyota has a good dealer network, you are under warranty and have roadside assistance. Carry a cell phone and don't worry about it.

+1

I carry a basic socket set and some electronics tools, but for the most part, AAA card does it.

I've got a survival kit with a space blanket, emergency water, a couple of ESEE knives, fire steel, paracord, beef jerky, and dried cranberries.

Truck? If it's not something I can plug back in, I'm not going to try to fix it on the side of the road.

Reading real time fuel economy from a ScanGauge or UltraGauge can be fun.

A scan tool is also handy if you ever set a warning light on a trip and want to see what the DTC is that set it. I've only had it happen once on a trip, but I was relieved to find out that the CEL on my Subaru was due to a bad neutral switch and nothing more important.

I really wouldn't worry much. You have enough miles on the truck that if something was critically wrong, it probably would've shown up by now. Have a good trip!
