I'd like to see the locations you guys put your cb antennas. I'm torn where I would like to put it on my truck, so I'd like to see all the places people have put theirs. I like the mount by the tailgate, but still not sure.

Also, when you post, any positives or negatives to where you put it.

    Thanks in advance!

No pics with the antenna on it other than this (Wilson 5'). Just installed it last weekend and will install CB & ARB OBA next weekend.

Thanks, I like that spot too. That bother you while driving at all, or in your line of sight?

I have mine on the roof using a Wilson lil will mag mount. I have the coax going behind the third brake light assembly and into the cab...making it a semipermanent mount. I've had this antenna for well over ten years now and still no problems (used to be on my old Montero Sport)..a roof mounted antenna will have the best ground plane and yeilds best results..

Yeah, I'm thinking about it, did you see Famous fab is gonna make the tailgate ones again?

    Thanks Monkey, food for thought.

LOL, true. The hood mount one is $20, so I'm thinking of that now.

I like that spot, thanks. I have a tonneau cover though.

    Yes
^^^What he said. Put a mag mount on the roof for max performance. If you want a hard mount, then the hood mount is the second best solution.

Mine was 3.15 at the Home Depot! I wandered one day when I wasn't happy with the crappy stock mount.

    http://www.homedepot.com/p/Simpson-Strong-Tie-Angle-A24/100375162?N=aq8i#.UYXtHr95nzI

All i had to do was drill two holes in order to Bolt onto the Back of the Bed, near the tailgate. The metal bracket provides a GREAT ground connection to the bed bolts, the same two bolts that the BAMF mount bolts to.

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/ba...2-bamf-2nd-gen-tailgate-cb-antenna-mount.html

It puts the mount level with the edge of the tailgate. You can round off the corners if you have an angle grinder or dremel. I added a quick disconnect so I can still get into parkin garages at school.

Other than that I love it. Super sturdy, great ground. I have a 1.1:1.2 SWR for my Firestik 4'.

Also, where did you bring the cable into the cab with this spot?
Can't beat the price, you mind posting up a pic of it on your truck?

I am using a Relentless hood mount. Easy coax routing.

I used to have it on a door jamb mount between the tailgate/bedside. The relentless products were on sale so I decided to get his mount.

Nice, thanks. Where did you run your coax into the cab with the hood mount?

There is a large rubber boot in the driver's side of the firewall, next to the steering shaft. I poked a hole in it and pulled the wire through that. I left the PL-59 connector off of my Firering coax until I pulled it through.
