Haven't try this or plati dip yet, but...

Any of them will protect my new taco's paint from being scratched by tree branches? I haven't take it to off-road because I don't want my paint damaged.

    Hi Guys,

I haven't tried 3m defender spray, but just had my 2012 TRD Tacoma Dbcab
done with 3m protection film. Im happy with the results except for one urge
annoyance, I now have a wristling noise coming from front of my truck. I'm wondering has anybody else experience this issue, since it was just done yesterday I haven't had time to look at it . Just looking for some input for now
it seems to be from the front , but the place that installed it seems to think I need to let the material be ib the warm sun for a couple days to cure.

    Thank you, Jon

Could be your grille. From what I read, there is a TSB for it also

There was a thread on this a while back (for the spray on 3M paint defender). Do a google search on the reviews of this stuff. They're mostly negative and if not applied thick enough is, evidently, a nightmare to remove.

The whole front end, but just to update it turned out being front bumper area
where film was causing whistle noise, I have since removed all the film. In my opinion it was not installed right but if you a web search you'll find this has been
    an issue for some people.

I'm not going to try and have it re-installed to many headaches ! The installer
also left to many bubbles and edges coming up.
