There was someone on here that modded an oem doublecab rack and shortened it to fit his access cab. Came out really good. Only downside is you cant stow the crossbars because the rails have been shortened. A search should come up with the diy...

Yes, pictures please. I would like to see the access with a roof rack. I've been toying with the idea of getting one for mine.

I put a Thule rack on mine.

I used the tracks. I recommend the landing pads instead. Its more work to get them square, but far less drilling and other nonsense. I also recommend dropping the headliner - there are braces and supports in the roof that can make installation difficult to impossible, and being able to see where they are is a real help.

If you have other questions, PM me. I'm not the greatest about watching threads.

Preliminary update. Pictures to come later today.

I bought my rack used and there were only two spare vinyl pads to stick to the q clips, so I've only been able to mount one of the rack.

First mounting tip: mount the racks when you have plenty of time and patience. One rack took me about 40 minutes, which isn't long, but I would have been 10 less I I hadn't done it at 1030 pm with the sun fading.

The process is fairly straight forward. I recommend a second set of strong hands to help with the tightening process. My gf helped but found the final tightening a bit tough.

The rack feels sturdy and will rock the truck if pushed on.

With the one bar it started buzzing at 70km (approx 43 miles). I plan on getting the fairing/windjammer for it. Any others noticed this?

I will update once I get the second rack on and put a load on.

Added the front fairing. Completely eliminated the wind noise. Very impressed and mounted the second bar. Seems sturdy.

That looks perfect. Any wind noise without a fairing? And I gotta ask, what size tires are you running on the FJ wheels?

Here's mine...I'm not a big fan of the foot style mount, but it's the only option on the AC.
