I'm adding the hitch and wiring harness on my 09 taco double cab v6 4x4. I saw that the trucks that came with the tow package have an alternator of 130amp. All the parts I got are from Toyota.
I got the 7-pin to 4-pin and 2" ball with mount

Is that all the parts, that I need to install on the truck?

There is an oil cooler, trans cooler, heavy duty battery, and the heavy duty alternator that go with the towing package. I'm not sure if there are any differences between the suspension hardware...but that oughta cover it.

I wouldn't expect to be covered by Toyota if you try to tow in excess of your rated weight from when you purchased the truck...

Depending on what you are towing- you may NOT need any of the above. I towed a 16 ft boat with a Dodge Caravan and had no issues. My Tacoma is more than up for the task. Add the above only if your towing really heavy.

Are you adding a hitch or just a bumper ball?
I know you said hitch but then you said 2" ball with mount. I guess you mean the receiver?

Is so, how much was the hitch, I want to get one too. I know they're like $140 on ebay without the wiring harness.

There isn't a need for trailer brakes. They are nice to have, but not necessary. I tow a 4000 pound bass boat without trailer brakes & never have any problems.

Downshifting the automatic to 4 then 3 helps for sudden stops.

Check out JC Whitney for hitch prices- their shipping was cheap.

I believe the fan clutch is also different.
