To those people with 3 inch lifts, new brake lines you used?

    Not sure on proper length yet, just got my lift in the mail today and realized i didn't order extended brake lines. Stainless steel braided the best? Thanks guys

    Oh.. i just assumed i needed new ones because i've seen someone on here say it before. Figured you guys know your stuff! Regardless i'm gonna get new braided brake lines anyways :)

    Stock lines will work fine with a lift, but they will be stretched very close to their limit when the suspension is flexed. They could definitely break, which wouldn't be good. I have seen some people add a spacer (ie washers) to the line mount bracket and say they're fine at full flex.

    I have OME Dakars on the rear with (currently) stock brake lines. I have SS extended ones from Toytec to install, just haven't got around to it yet as I haven't fully flexed it out, just rode a few trails. No probs. If you are installing rear leafs, keep an eye on your lines as you droop the axle to see how close they come to overstretched.

    Besides the extra length, SS lines won't expand like the stock rubber ones can under hydraulic pressure from the brake system. Should lead to a better/firmer pedal feel without any "squishyness".

    My lines have been fine so far on the OME lift...but I did manage to pull the front driver's side line out of the retention clip

    I used a coupling nut put underneath the rear brake line bracket with a longer bolt through it. Works for me :)

    With the Tough country AAL I used I got about 4" of rear lift. Today I had to swap out my busted stock shocks (topping out all the time). After testing the full droop, I determined I only needed about an inch more on the brake lines. So I also did the spacer, taping together about 10 washers to get the right height, and I had a perfect bolt match in my parts drawer (first time I lucked out, ever!).

    OME complete kit w/ 885s on Nitrocharger Sports, 1/4" spacers, Dakars w/ Nitrocharger Sports, LR UCAs, 265/70-17, Duratracs, G4 Elite tonneau, Weathertech Window Deflectors, Weathertech digital floor liners, factory JBL/Entune, rear differential breather relocate.
    I got the ones from Wheeler's Off Road but I found the OCTaco ones later and wished I had gotten those. If you get the ones from Wheeler's you have grind out one of the bracket holes a little because the end of the brake line is a little too big. Here's a link:
