I've only had to change the strips once in 3 years

    and it took 15 minutes

either fix it or quit bitching about it

I've read from an OME publication (in another country, Czech Republic actually) that the Dakar u bolt recommended spec is 93 ft-lbs. I have mine torqued to 89 ft-lbs right now, although I'll have to touch them up again in a few hundred miles.

    Here: http://www.oldmanemu.cz/data/a/rozmery-u-trmenu.pdf

The bottom says "OME No. 26 int Jul2010"

The u bolts supplied by ARB are OMEu53a.

What about 12+ with the new style springs. I just had a literal ton of flagstone in mine. And me and the guy at the rock store expected it sit on the bump stops. But it only sagged a bit. We wre both shocked. And I do tow my flats skiff without issue. But it's real light built Kevlar and Carbon fiber. BMT total is under 2000 lbs. I do want a ARB again for my Warn. Do you guys think I would be good with the OME springs up front with the ARB/winch and the new rear leafs?

That's excellent, guys, thanks! I torqued to 80, since that's as high as my wrench will go, and video shows the wrap just as severe as when the bolts were much more loose. Still happy with Dakars.

I have the Dakars and removed one leaf for more of a level look and the ride isn't too bad. Don't haul much either.

I thought axle wrap was weak leafs basically twisting as you take off, and untwisting when there was less torque on them? How would buying newer, beefier leafs not fix that?

Yes, that's axle wrap, as the whole rear axle twists them. I'd expect the Expos to keep this in check, but these Dakars aren't as stiff. I'm feeling it might be the excessive weight of my truck stopping and starting - this thing is fully armored, with a heavy bed, too.

I'm thinking about going this direction. Which leaf did you remove and how much lift did you get in back? Thanks!
