So after being a little skeptical and doing my research I ended up purchasing this Ipod Interface for my tacoma. I have an 08 Sport with the JBL 6 cd changer. I was nervous that the plug in the back would be different but it plugged right in now problem. It has a 30 pin connector for the ipod which charges it and also still keeps the steering wheel controls which is nice. Also comes with an aux cord to plug into other devices or if you have a newer apple product and dont want to purchase an adaptor. So for the installation, as I've said before, easiest installation ever... the tacoma stereo is so easy to pull out. Then you just plug the connector into the back and you're ready to listen to music. At first I ran the cords into the glove box but decided to run the cords through the center console so the cords are next to the drivers seat. As I said I was skeptical but for $30 shipped I had to take the chance. I'm going on 2 months with it and haven't had an issue yet, and if I do then I feel okay knowing I'm not out alot of money on it. The only cons are that the text doesnt show up on the stereo and when you turn off the truck, it doesnt turn off the ipod. Hope this helps out everyone else looking for a cheap or quick fix until you get an aftermarket stereo or if you want to keep the stock look. I was going to make a write up on pulling the dash and center console out during install but I thought I'd wait. If anyone wants me to make a small write up then just let me know, I'll put it togetehr real quick. I filmed it so I would just have to put the video together real quick.

Nice. Does this work with regular non-JBL radios? I have the single disc changer with no steering wheel controls.

As far as I know it does, everyone in the reviews seemed to use it with the non JBL, I was the one who was unsure if it would fit since I had the JBL.

How does the ipod connect once installed? I do not have any sort of aux button or control on my stereo

    I added a bolt once...
I had a USA spec in my 06 and it worked great. Ran the plug to the center console also.
Made playlists on my laptop called Toyota1, etc...Good product.

My new 14 does things a little differently.

It might run through the FM channel. That's how the iConnect works and the US-TOY-Spec too I believe.

USA Spec uses the CD selector

    ie the playlists are CD1 , CD2 , CD3 etc , ipod direct mode is CD7 IIRC

Well there ya have it. I have no experience with that but had the iConnect at one point and didn't like it. The sound quality was real crappy. Had to turn the radio up to 50 and the ipod volume all the way just to have it at a decent sound level, so I returned it got a new stereo and then had it stolen 2 months later and have been back to stock for 2 years now.

The USA Spec works great , the sound quality is good

The sound quality and volume of the stock AUX input sucks balls

I keep thinking about it but then tell myself that's money I can put towards the radio I want. My first mistake when I got the truck was getting the radio and not having an alarm or something in the track of the sliding window to prevent break-ins (that's how they got in). I keep going back and forth, I may pick one up in the mean time though, they seem to be fairly common in the B/S/T section.

Yeah, when you plug in your phone you just switch over to disc and it starts up right away. I think you have to the disc ejected though. I have the adaptor to connect my iphone 5 and the steering wheel controls all still work too. Its been a couple months and still going strong.

I had the same problem, I didnt want to spend alot of money on the other ipod connectors for the stock stereo so I picked up this one. I'm getting my new stereo put in soon, so it served its purpose exactly as i needed.
