Fluid Film?

i just applied some ams oil stuff last week. looks pretty good. i usually run fluid film though. its a pretty dry wax film after a day or so. dust doesnt stick like with FF

 

im actually planning on using fluid film pretty soon, how did you guys apply it to your frame? I was thinking of using a hand sprayer (pump ones, you pump by hand and then spray) but idk if that is the best way of applying. I don't have access to air compressors or spray guns either

i think 2 will do a pretty good job. you DON'T have to coat it thick, just get it glossy.

 

I just used the cans also. Found two cans was enough for the frame, axle, basically all metal under the truck. I plan on doing it once every year or two.

 

Get a kit off ebay for 100 bucks, 2 gallons 2 cans and a spray gun. First time I did it I had the regulator alittle high and used a complete gallon on my frame and under body alone.

 

I applied this stuff about 2 weeks ago, needed a tad more around the hitch area just because, ended up touching it and a couple cross members up the day before I took it in for an oil change (warranty and stuff). The tech came up looking extremely confused and worried then proceeded to tell me I had a MAJOR gearbox leak somewhere and that the bottom of the truck was coated in gear oil. Sure enough, buddy had never seen the stuff before and nearly had a heart attack

Looking forward to seeing how it holds up to an Alberta winter though, the only time of the year the potholes are truly filled in.

Four cans two weeks ago took care of the undercarriage with enough to spare. I'm an idiot though and didn't have any kind of face mask... shit gave me a headache. Good stuff and after 2 touchless washes its still looking good.

 

Yeah it gets covered with dust so what? Think people are going to craw under your truck and then tell your friends your truck is dirty? I just did mine, pressure washer knocked the dirt off and in all actually I probably really did not need to do it the frame was still black and the water beaded up on it. I buy it by the gallon and use a cheap Wagner electric paint gun. The only thing I try not to spray is the exhaust only because it smokes like crazy. I do the farm equipment, the truck and the wife's car I get it at a farm supply store for under $35. Yes you need a mask when you spray any thing.
