You know I got the Off Road instead of the Sport (hood Scoop). I was really torn because I wanted the hood scoop as well. I rationalized my decision of getting the Off Road based solely on the rear locker. That rear locker is worth it for resell, and to add an aftermarket one is $$$. I like the look of the black handles and chrome bumpers so that didn't bother me so much either. It wouldn't cost that much to get a new hood, you might even find someone to trade you. As far as options, I would skip the upgraded stereo and go aftermarket. The stereo's leave a lot to be desired, regardless of which one you get you will be wanting more. After that there is not a whole lot of available options really. The packages are well equipped. Get a bed mat, and door sill plates right off the bat. Don't get the upgraded floor mats either, get the included ones and buy some weather tech's. Hope that helps!

Check out this thread. I even comented on it. Eairlier this week...I was about to jump ship, due to my truck having to many issues in to short of time. The Toyota dealer was going to give me $14K for my truck, then went to the nissan dealer, they were going to give me back every penny I spent on it! All $17,500! Or hook me up with a bumper to bumper warrenty for super cheep. (which is what I am going to do)

Any way check this thread out, The funny thing is how many people say there motor tick's!

LOL! Look at you, doing your home work! Can I ask what you do for a living?

Well you did miss at least 3 threads with me changeing my mind. The Toyota dealer said the would give me $17K for my truck only tords a new one. Which was the only thing holding me back when I fist when to jump ship. Now that they will give me $17K, I can justify the jump.

Yeah, what is the short version of the "tick" I'm not so sure I could live with that. Exactly how loud is that tick? Does it happen all the time? And there must be a fix for it.

Edit: that warrenty thing fell though. It was NOT super cheep. It was an extra $110 per month. Shit, that would put me at the monthly price of a new one. It would be a bad move to do that.
So now I'm back to just gett'en a yota

Always nice to see another taco owner.

I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
so when the 2011's come out and they are the same as 2010's, are you going to wait another year for the 2012's? I think you should just get one now. 2 years is a long time to wait and a long time to have the current body style of the truck.

hard to tell sarcasm/personalities online dude. didn't know if you got butt hurt or were trying to return the joke.:p I usually lurk on club frontier. used to have an 01 cc 4x4 and considered buying an 05+ fronty but after comparing the two...ended up w the tacoma. no agent here...just bored at work and usually lurk my 4 daily forums haha

the tick....mine is annoying but i need to take it in and see if it will be covered through the TSB for the manifolds. there is a write up by chris4x4 that has seemed to work for a few people, but it was no bueno for me.

FYI the tick is not valve or anything bad.. it's annoying yes, but nothing that will cause anyuthing to fail

and there is a fix that reduces the sound significantly (add a washer)

Hood scoop is nice but there are 2 kinds of taocs. SPORT and OFF ROAD sport comes with hood scoop match colored painted bumpers and bunch of other goodies BUT Off Road comes with an E-locker :) which makes it great if you off road but no hood scoop sorry:mad:. I have a sport but would trade it for an off road.
