    i wont run anything but toyota dealer 5w-30.. thats what it came with.. thats what i think should always be run it it.. it has special toyota additives in it... and the 2.7 is the only one that should run on 0w-anything...

    Not today but last week until yesterday evening...
    Towed this from Saucier, MS to St Charles, Il to Carthage, MO and back to Saucier.

    Took it in today for it's first service (5000 mile)...a little late since it had 6126 miles when I got it to the dealer. Oh well...

    Averaged about 14.75 mpg...tried all three grades of gas and didn't really see a difference in mileage so 87 octane will be the gas of choice from now on.

    Got a jump start this morning and took it into the dealership. They checked the battery and the alternator. The battery was completely shot. Everything was covered under warranty, so the battery was free. Their only explaination was that maybe the heat killed the battery. I have had the truck in San Diego for 2 years and now I have had it in Virgina (hot and humid as hell) for a month now, so it could be a possibility. I will definately be keeping an eye on the battery to make sure that it's not something on the truck that is killing the battery.

    For the questions about checking the posts and connections. Yes, that was the first thing that I checked. The posts, cables and connections were clean. The battery looked damn brand new.

    I had a battery take a dump on me while at the gas pump after only 18 months when I lived in Vegas. Made the dealership come get me and replace it. Heat = death in batteries. Glad they covered it for you without a hassle.
