    Actually, a Full-Sized truck (2500HD Duramax/Allison) and an RV - which weighs 6 tons, loaded.

    Tongue weight is never more than1400-1500 lbs; Since it's a 3/4 ton truck, that's within its capabilities. Additionally, we use a weight-distributing hitch, which puts a portion of the load onto the front axles as well as the rear. >30k miles of hard towing with no problems.

    Some folks look down on the chalk method. I did it to mine with 265/75/16 Hankook AT tires and mine was 32 front, 28 rear. It must have worked, I have tread wear evenly across the tires and they are now at around 72K miles on them. They need to be changed, next month I get new ones exactly like these. But I sure beat that 50K mile warranty period with them good. :)

    It will all come down to tread wear, handling, comfort and safety.

    On my 01' Dodge 2500 I had 285's on a 9x16 wheel at 70-75 front (heavy motor) 50-55 rear, good even tread wear and mileage. Depending on what I needed to haul the rear weight would go up.

    This is what I run on my 285/70-17 DuraTracs.
    Higher pressures might give one a little better fuel mileage because of less rolling resistance - i.e. Only running on the centers of the tires, wearing them out before the edges.
    Even tread wear=longevity. For me, higher pressures are also uncomfortable on load range D tires.

    Tracked down the clunking noise to a bad upper ball joint. Toyota wants to replace the whole UCA for 350 plus labor...lol

    O'Reilly's has a Moog replacement ball joint for 40 bucks

    I can move it up and down by hand. I have to see if the clip came off or needs a total replacement. Weekend project.

    Completed ProEFX mirror install and I love them. Driver's side was a real PITA for running an additional wire for the marker/signal light... Already had heated mirrors so didn't need to run anything for that.

    Cranked the tire as it was parked, the ball joint between the UCA and the knuckle can be moved up and down and grease is coming out, the clunk happens when I turn, I imagine it is the ball joint popping out of place? The other side doesn't do the same.
