It’s a great day and need to share my new-to-me taco with you all. I bought a 2010 DC TRD Sport in January so this is my second taco in just a few short months--I'm hooked! Your input, advice and comments are welcomed!!!

This is a 2000 Imperial Jade Tacoma SR5 4X4 with a 2.7L 5-speed manual transmission. The truck has 189,XXX miles and is in incredible condition. Drives wonderfully and nearly rattle-free—very tight for her age (TWSS!). This is going to be my wife’s and my expedition rig and I can’t wait to start mod’ing the bed for storage/sleeping like BajaTaco: http://www.bajataco.com/Camper1.html

I bought this from a fellow service member (Army Special Forces E8 currently in Physician’s Assistant Program) whom bought it in March 2000. I met him at the hospital while recovering from spine surgery. He and I immediately hit it off and he eventually made me a very generous deal on this truck—his pride and joy—I got it for $7K cash and I was happy to pay it. He and his wife just had their first child and need more room than the Xtra Cab offers. He has kept the most detailed and exhaustive maintenance and fill-up records I have ever seen. It has all power options and creature comforts (minus electric seats), factory flip-up sunroof, flip-out side windows, and sliding rear window. Frame has been inspected and is rust-free; treated at time of original purchase and underbody re-coated at 90K. Spent 6 out of last 11 years in South Texas.

It has been modified as follows:

    Drive train
    - Re-geared to 4.56
    - ARB Air Locking rear differential
    - Marlin Crawler Clutch Pack @ 180K (replaced original clutch)

    Engine
    - 3RZ-FE, all stock.
    - Synthetic fluids, K&N and Toyota/Nissin filters used since day #1

    Exhaust
    - Flowmaster 40 series w/ 2.25in pipe

    Suspension
    - FabTech adjustable coils w/Dirt Logic shocks - Front
    - Bilstein (5100's) shocks – Rear
    - SkyJacker Leaf springs
    - Overall it has about 3 inches of lift, leveled for the weight of the ARB bumper
    - Stock 15 inch wheels with BFG A/Ts 33x9.5

    Body
    - ARB Bull bar (winch ready… any advice/recommendations?)
    - Bud Built skid plate
    - Rhino-lined bed
    - Tinted windows
    - Very minor trail damage

    Accessories
    - Tow package
    - New Vision color-matched Fiberglass Topper/Cap***************
    - Yakima roof rack
    - Truck-Bedz Expedition Series mattress
    - Sportz 84000 SUV Tent
    - ARB on board air compressor with one open port for air tools, etc.
    - Super Lift TruSpeed speedo recalibrator
    - Uniden CB Radio and Little Wil antenna
    - ScanGauge II OBD2 Scanner/Reader

    Audio
    - All stock

I’ve been studying the 1st Gen mods carefully and already have a few in mind. Thanks for looking!

Yep! The previous owner is the coolest guy I've met in a long time. Total gentlemen and wonderful integrity. I'm sorry he's moving so far away. A really great guy!

I know! I love the 1st Gen's manual trans. Reminds me of when I was a bit younger (by about 20 years or so!)

Thanks, I see you did the deckplate mod and painted your chrome bumper black. Couple questions: Is the deckplate mod worth the effort? And how did you prep the chrome to paint it black... I want to do this just want to do it right the first time. Thanks for the thoughts!
