On the topic of first gens, what are your guys thoughts on selling my 33's and lift to fund a 1st gen project? I'm thinking of picking up this one. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/scz/cto/3879395560.html and dropping a 3.4 in it. I can probably get $1200-1400 for my lift and tires and $350 for my bumper I have. That would probably get me the 4runner and an engine around here.

I think that would be awesome. That truck you posted looks bent to shit though. Hopefully the frame is straight. The whole truck looks warped like a fuckin house of mirrors lol maybe it's just the pics.

Honestly, 1st gens are the way to go. 3rd gens are great for expo rigs and the average trail run, but when you want to beat on something, a nice 3rd gen isn't the way to go...

Haha I saw that too. Not sure what's going on. Might take a look at it this weekend. I miss my 1st gen so much and I'd love to keep my 3rd gen as a DD.

Same goes with 4th gens. They're comfy as hell, but I feel like I'm gonna go to hell when I hurt my poor truck

Yeah I like the expo type 3rd gen but I can't have my dd down so it sucks going wheeling in it. Going to look into it more but pick b pull motors are $250 around here. Not bad if I can find a lower mileage one.

    you do WHAT?!

Though, I do the same. Mine is my DD but I treat it like a trail rig. It's better that way.

I know my 3rd gen can take it but I have always wanted to get another 1st gen since my last one got totaled. Rather dump money into one I'm keeping for a while rather than my 3rd gen. Once I can afford it the 3rd is gone for a 1st gen tundra or 2nd gen Tacoma.

Your runner needs counseling cause it is suffering from battered rig syndrome

Bah i just saw the 1st gen 4runner I linked above on a flat bed heading North. Texted the guy and he sold it for $600. What a freaking steal. Damn I would have loved to get that one for so cheap. Tires could have paid for it and suspension and bumper would have gotten me a 3.4. O well.
