Auxiliary audio jack

Ok...so...I've done some searching and have come up with nothing. I want to keep the factory radio in the truck. I hate using the 3.5 aux jack for everything. Is there any way to get a factory 3.5/USB port and hook it into the radio? I could care less about being able to control my ipod/ipad thru the radio....but I want it to be able to charge my junk. Anyone done this mod?

You could use something like this in the 12v socket.



Just a temporary solution for the time being.

 

Can you also play music off a USB flash drive? It's not mentioned in that link. And on one of the cables I can't tell if it's a 30 pin plug or a female USB plug.

You can find 3.5mm/USB combo plug that fits the factory lower switch blanks that looks almost identical to the Tundra one but for way less on Ebay. There's some info in the link in my signature.

 

Only thing with that adapter....it would just become a charger right? I actually want to have the USB connect to the radio. Essentially take out the 3.5 and wire a USB in its place. I know the tundras have them. If it were a jeep I'd know how to do everything. New to the toyota scene.

No flash drive compatibility that I am aware of , it's a 30 pin connector that plugs directly into the ipod , charges it and allows you to access it

 

Now....only question is will that be a direct plug into the back of my head unit...or can I just cut the end off the USB line and tap into the existing truck wiring.

Use the link in steveo27 signature. This is what you want. Get the usb splitter and split the usb into 2 ports. It will charge and play.
