Yeah thats an amazingly well done door panel.
Id love to be able to do such work but mother nature and non heated garages pretty much stunt me from doing any work in the shop:(

Is that polished aluminum trim ?

Toyota probably made some small modifications to the back plastic so it isnt listed as a fitting item for that year but it it should still fit. Any JL Audio dealer should be able to get it for you. I can also get it for you at a discount as well if your willing to pick it up

You can see the 12+ model has a curve on the bottom left and the 05-11 model is straight. My version comes with two 10w1 and the new model comes with one 10tw3. Its a pretty close comparison. Both would be nice. I like having 2 though. If you want the older model youll have to just find someone selling the back plastic trim panels so you can use the older model

Why not just make it yourself ?
Most hardware stores have cutting ability..
Just measure it out, put it together with glue and Clamps or screws
Cut the hole via Router or jig saw if your stable

    cost = Under 50$

These boxes are pretty complex to maximize cubic airspace. The back is perfectly molded to the cab wall which isnt at all flat. It accounts for the seat hooks and prefectly fits specific sub models. When you see them in person they are quite intricate. Even a professional installer with advanced box building skills would have a difficult time replicating it perfectly without using fiberglass modlings in some sections. Airspace is perfectly calculated to match the sub. It would cost more to replicate it than to just buy it. Its not for people on a tight budget or for those who could care less what it looks like behind your seats because their are tons of not so pretty aftermarket boxes with more airspace. This box is really designed for those with OCD or who insist on keeping a factory look haha.

Im very much aware of how they look, All you have to do is flatten or remove those hooks. If you need a babyseat you can put it on the other side which you would anyways as you have your stereo on one side. Everything ells is still stock and will have that stock look and then the box is vanilla to build. You can cut around the tabs very easily with the right size hole saw and do very basic 20$ fibreglass job to patch the remaining area. Cf is very easy to calculate and Really not that complicated. We aren't talking about determine angles and link lengths here.

BUTTT i do understand that there are people out there that want the JL name, Want the JL box etc so to those this is perfect as their not going to spend the time to build one

Actually, you can find both versions of the behind-seat storage plastics in 2012+'s. It has to do with where/when the truck was made. I've seen 2013's with the "older" style rear storage bins without the bend.

I started a thread with a few questions in regards to a HU I'm installing this weekend. I got the wiring down for the HU and the jbl interface but couldn't get an answer on my question for the steering wheel control interface I got. I'm posting this in here since there seems to be a good amount of traffic in this thread. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

There's actually only a couple weeks left on it! The driver side door panel is almost done, and then after that just a few pieces need to be painted. They've been staying at the shop until midnight almost every night trying to get it done

I put a Pioneer AVH-X5700BHS using the Metra kit...

Getting the airbag indicator thing detached. It helps to have a few small flat screwdrivers wedged in to disengage the tabs

The wiring harnesses attached, everything wrapped up and positioned to be hooked up.

It's in and ready for the faceplate

Super clean. Everything was plug and play with a harness adapter? You have the plugin for the steering controls, or bypass them?

I don't have steering wheel controls so I didn't have to do anything with that plug, just left it alone. The wiring harness from Metra has to be connected to the radio's wiring, then the Metra plugs snap right into the trucks plugs. So you do have to do some crimping or soldering, whatever your preference.

I used butt connectors and crimped them with heat shrink that is lined with adhesive. They are not coming apart.

    3inch toytec coils 5100's, aal(soon to be replaced), 33/12.5 km2s, + a money hole...
Those are the best subs I've owned. I had them in two 12s and sounded great on every kind of music. Nice and clean bass. Especially for the price of them it's the best bang for your buck
