Close together on the roof is fine because they are only exhausting , no intake

 

Roof exhaust is fine as long as the exhaust line is insulated

 

If you have access to the wall versus access to the attic

Stick your head in the attic and check out the sizing of the ceiling joists

If they're 2x6 you may get a bit of sagging especially if you're near centre span

 

2x8's would most likely be fine

Should be fine if that strongback is attached to the ceiling joists

 

Add them when there is no snow load and run them square to the rafter ( not plumb ) at the rafter's mid span and nailed to the side of the rafter and ceiling joist

Doing tile in kitchen, teaching my dad how to run a tile saw is fun. My cat is mad because he's been laying on the tower of tile boxes for months. Now his perch is gone.

Just finished replacing the insulation (doubling up and foil taping) the exposed exterior refrigerant lines for the two A/C units on the house. I know the foil tape probably wasn't necessary, but UV degradation of foam insulation is a big issue here in the desert.

Probably 4" , pre-drill for the shank size at the thread base , check for wiring in the joists first

 

Anyone recommend a decent DIY garage floor paint/epoxy? Don't need something to last foreverererer but if it looks nice for 5 years with limited use, I'll be content.

Mixed opinion on the Home Depot type Rustoleum product. Only surface prep I plan on doing is pressure washing.
