I have a practical question or two and an aesthestic question.

    1. Given that the stock OEM grill contains a moderate percentage of solid material which would deflect the air stream, does going with an open grill design negatively affect the aerodynamics? Is it like just having a big open air scoop/ram? All modern car/truck manufacturers do careful wind tunnel testing to minimize aerodynamic drag. Are we creating unintended consequences?

    2. In cold climates like here, would the increased airflow affect engine temp?
(the reason you see people with cardboard covers over their radiators.) I'm talking really cold, like -20°F when it takes significantly longer to warm up.

    3. If you had a hoop plate bumper, like an ARB, how much of the grill would show? Would it be aesthetically worth it? (I know this is a subjective question, but I'm having a hard time visualizing it.) I'm not crazy about the '12 grill (or any other 2nd gen), and this mod seems to clean it up and simplify the look nicely)

I'm not familiar with that emblem and if it has mounting studs on the back and you aren't comfortable using only double sided 3m foam tape. you can epoxy screws to it like this or tap the emblem like this

I used double sided tape for my toyota emblem and it is held on firmly, but it also has more surface area than the emblem you want.

There doesn't seem to be a '12 option on the tacomaworld page they put up for us. I emailed them asking about it, haven't received a response yet.

Lots of people have installed Devil horns to these kinds of grills. I'm sure the bigger the opening of the mesh the better the chances of aligning the bolts to hold the emblem to the grill.

Alright guys.... we are open and updated.

    You can order here:

    http://www.truckalterations.com/html/tacomaworld.html

PLEASE KEEP A FEW THINGS IN MIND:

    1. We will not order the grills from this group buy from Grillcraft until May 9th. At that time Grillcraft will begin to process the order. If past Group Buys are any indicator it will be a large order. Grillcraft may not have all the grills in stock and it may take them 2-3 weeks to have all the grills ready to ship. So, from May 9th, expect your grill to take 3-4 weeks to arrive. Hopefully it will be sooner, but I want everyone to be prepared.

    2. Feel free to address any questions to luke@truckalterations.com I check this far more frequently than my private messages here so use e-mail for the fastest response.
