    I dont think the 17" inch wheel is necessary. I have a 16" wheel, its all about backspacing.

    Yeah you don't need a 17" wheels, the write-up is misleading. The minimum part should be removed.

    From my understanding its 4.5 max BS for 16" wheels and 4.75 max BS with 17" wheels. I updated what I posted and ditched the minimum. Its funny but I actaully got this from Maxtracs website.

    I'd imagine it would be better to have a bigger rim, but not sure though.

    I mentioned this in the Maxtrac thread and Bob from maxtrac confirmed, but basically the spindle arm tapers back so a larger rim can essentially have greater BS due to having more clearence from the spindle.

    Hope this makes sense. I can explain further if needed

    Bottom line if you have 4.5" BS you are good for a 16" rim and up. The bigger the rim the more clearence from the arm meaning you can get away with greater BS. This is why you can have 4.75" BS with a 17" rim.
