Hey I work at a grocery store now and the other day I was checking. I was being overly nice tht day because I was being evaluated. Well this woman comes thru and buys her groceries then hands me a card and says she is a hiring agent at a medical billing agency. I call her and she wants to meet her tuesday for a lunch interview. Pointers please

Research her company online, then sneakingly let your manager know another company is interested in you so he may give you incentives to stay. Play the field and keep it real.

Be weary of random people recruiting complete strangers in the grocery store. Sounds like turnover must be really high if she's having to recruit someone who hasn't applied and she doesn't know. High turnover = people hate their jobs

I'm not saying that type of situation is never legit...proceed with caution. Best of luck to you.

Search the BBB for her company, get EVERYTHING is writing. Do a Google search on her and the company. I'd be very suspicious of a random recruiter like that. DO NOT give her any personal information until you are certain she and her company are legit.

I sent my resume in to her and did some research on the company and it appears to be legit. Here is her email she sent back

    Matthew,

Thank you for your interest in Precision Billing Services, LLC and for sending your resume. I will look forward to talking with you on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. I do not have a private office here in the hospital to conduct our interview and appreciate your willingness to meet me at the restaurant. After we eat, I would like for you to come to the hospital and meet my partners and I can show you where we are currently located. You will also be able to meet the other person you would be working with on a daily basis.

I was impressed by your customer service and people skills as you were working at XXXXXXX that evening and I am looking for a candidate that is interested in learning from on the job training and experience. You seem like a young person who has a good work ethic and a bright future in whatever career path that you choose. We are recruiting for a position at this time, growing quickly, and I anticipate many opportunities with our company over the next year. I need someone who will work hard, learn and can grow into a management position in the future.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions before Tuesday and I look forward to meeting with you.

    Sincerely,

    Twila T. Gibson, CPC
