auxillary lighting bracket

this weekend i am looking to install some extra lights in the rear of the truck and while searching the threads i had seen that Scocar [OP] installed some pilot lights onto his towing package that came with brackets that allowed you to mount the lights to the towing package. does anyone have this set up (or similar) and used a different type of bracket because i wanted to do this on friday and i would have to order the pilot backup light kit just for the brackets.

there is already holes underneith so you just put whatever lights u want

 

i noticed the holes in the bumper already but there is a metal bar bolted across with come pretty odd looking "star" headed bolts and covers the holes and the trailer hitch will help shield the lights from debris and if i mount them to the bumper they will be "exposed" more

 

Do you off road a lot? I have slim cheap-o fogs mounted to the bottom of the bumper, and I have had no issues romping around in snow or anything. I don't do any bumper-dragging off road, though. Mine hang down probably 2" or less.

 

You obviously have a hitch so try to find lights that don't hang down lower or sit further back than the receiver. The hitch will provide some protection but that's a vulnerable area unfortunately. You could get the battering ram from Timicha for some more protection from the occassional bumper drag.
