    just did this to my 2011 V6. also removed that little
    clamshell piece that goes into the wheel well.

    do I need to disco the battery for an hour or 2?

    Would dropping in a dry flow type filter in place of the OEM do even
    more? if so, which one?

    are you talking just an aftermarket filter or a CAI replacement?

    the stock looks like a straight through for the most part, Im just
    wondering how much more I'll gain from a 400 dollar cai as opposed
    to this mod and an aftermarket filter.

    If I take the secondary filter out and get it smoged can I just put it back in. Even though it will be loose in there?

    Rear Gate security Mod (although I seldom take my eyes off it) "Harsh Ride" Shocks and Springs TSB performed by "Me" New Cooper Discoverer AT3s 265/75R16s (fit well) Front "Tacoma Mike" light mod! Rugged Ridge floor mats. Bought another set of D rings and installed them in my wheel well. Perfect! Just hit the big 6000 Miles 12/19/11, Installed an alarm system to go with my factory power door locks 1/21/12
    I removed my Pre filter at lunch. took about 3 min. the change in engine performance is Amazing. I had to pull over to the side of the road and make sure no one put a Tundra V8 under my hood...AND I checked my mileage and Im now getting almost 28 mpg.

    YEAH OF COURSE IM KIDDING.......... nothing noticed..

    I have just removed the secondary air filter (charcoal) from my 2011 4 cyl Tacoma. I have complete records of fuel consumption since vehicle purchase. I drive a steady route and will post my first week's results regarding fuel consumption. I'd love to see improvement to reduce my operating cost. You will be advised. Thanx, DMHart
