Ive been sorting through the threads on lift kits and whatnot trying to figure out more info on what to do for my Tacoma. The info has been of some help but I still have no clue as to what to do for my baby.
Currently I have a 2012 PreRunner TRD and I want to put a solid lift kit on that makes my truck look good, ride good, and give me a little more clearance. as I understand the lift kit doesn't exactly add clearance the tires do that. and If you get above 3" of lift then u have to put on other items to not tear up your truck.
I really only use my truck for hunting and fishing purposes so these add ons will really only be aesthetic but I was thinking of adding a winch and rear lockers in the future so I can do a little bit of adventuring in the woods. nothing to wild but ruts will be a definite find where ill be going.
SO what kind of set up should I go for?

Do not run blocks. Use an add-a-leaf for the rear and you'd probably be okay with coil spacers on the front but you could use lift coils if you wanted. As far as clearing tires, I have a friend who has 36" swampers under his with just a leveling kit, probably about 2". A 3' lift would be fine.

ive heard to many bad things about blocks to even consider. I had looked at doing bilstein front shocks to level out the front but then I want to go up an extra 3" so I am not completely sure what brands to put on and where to buy them at.

Rides well with the resivor shocks. It's not as stiff as I thought it would be. It's really strong though. I had 1,000 pounds of gravel in the back the other day and it barely moved.

The add a leafs usaually aren't that bad, especially if you pair them with good shocks like some billys. We've stacked enough leafs in a pack to get around 10" of lift and suprisongly the truck rides good. Not a DD though
