Toyota has expanded an earlier TSB (T-SB-0365-10) to address an issue where the truck might have a squeak or creak noise from the clutch pedal being engaged. The recall now includes 2012 models.
[IMG]If you have a squeaky clutch pedal in your 2005-2012 Toyota Tacoma, you are in luck. Toyota has a repair to take care of this nuisance.

This expansion also has a new TSB number (T-SB-0186-12) and includes all 2005-2012 Toyota Tacoma pickups – the old recall only affected 2005-2011.
Essentially, Toyota is changing the clutch pedal and clutch master cylinder assembly to address the noise issue. The TSB applies to vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below.
Like all other TSBs, the repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date.
    The Fix
As we previously reported, in order to return the six-speed transmission’s clutch back to factory spec and eliminate the noise problem, it is necessary to replace each of the three parts listed above. This is no small job – it requires dropping the transmission. The Toyota TSB lists the labor charge at around three hours.
Fortunately, the repair is covered under the Tacoma’s five-year / 60,000 mile powertrain warranty. This is great if your warranty is still in effect, but if it’s not, you might have to convince your local dealership to perform a goodwill repair on your vehicle or face absorbing the costs yourself.
If you feel confident enough to try the repair at home you can get the parts directly from Toyota and give it a shot at in your own garage. Anyone who has ever replaced a clutch before should be able to take care of this issue on their own, especially given the fact that there is a lot of room under the Tacoma to work.

TSB. Just twist the barrel a bit on the clutch pedal linkage. Mine hasnt made a peep for months since I twisted that little plastic piece like a quarter turn.

Mine started squeaking yesterday. I would deal with it before I would let the dealer drop my transmission.

Thank you for the update. I got mine done last year during the summer. I had to post you tube videos, before and after to the dealers email for them to call me back and schedule it to be done.

so far, no other issues and it actually shifts more proper than before!

I see that you're in AZ, so I assume heat was an issue for yours. Mine did that here in Pittsburgh in July/Sept.

Seems the plastic unit doesn't like conflicting in/out cab temps.

Mine started making noise again last night, and can be felt in pedal too. Just had the TSB done a few months ago... I could club a baby seal over the agitation of this. Ruins the driving experience every time you use the clutch. You can feel the groaning in your foot.

I put thick white lithium grease in the pivot point for the cmc-rod and pedal, last night. Seemed to help this morning, but not totally
