You can make this #60;

Disable door buzzer (beep) w/ key in ignition;

Follow these steps for removal,
http://www.customtacos.com/tech/index.php?article=225

Then fill with silicone rubber! You don't want to remove the buzzer by ripping it off, this just creates an "open" in the curcuit.

I don't want to find out what the possible side effects of the open curcuit might be...

Just so it's clear, before somebody goes tearing out an electrical component or filling with silicone. This is a multi-tone buzzer. You will loose the E-brake engaged warning, Reverse chime and maybe others.

My truck never make any other noise except when I had the key in, and door open. Not a single other sound since I drove it off the lot...I have an automatic, so i dont have any of that gunk.

Which is one of the reasons I haven't added it to the list. It removes the reverse beep for manuals which I like for when other people drive my truck (dealer idiots, valets, etc), and the key in beep when you get out. I'm in the habit of pulling the keys out when I get out because I don't trust anyone, but it's a little reminder for those days I'm half asleep. Or when someone else drives. With the key to ON the door-open beep stops after a few seconds anyway so I fail to see the point in ripping the buzzer out for that.

And there may be other sounds that use that buzzer. At least the programming method just removes the seat belt one.

And if Toyota had ½ an acorn, they'd include programming for all the tones.
At least on the 04 and earlier Tacoma's, you can remove the wire for each tone separately.

No ill affects yet.... I plugged in the gauge cluster with the back still off and turned to truck on, saw no arcing or anything between the connections...

on my auto this got rid of the door open, seat belt (was already off), and parking brake beeps

Yeah, that would be nice. I prefer to keep the reverse beep for those occasional drivers that may not realize they're in reverse instead of 1st. I try to limit driving to my wife and myself, but sometimes others are forced too. Had to have it serviced once and one dealer guy did NOT know how to drive it. Ground the gears, hit 5th instead of 3rd..... So I dreaded him trying to find reverse (luckily, he asked me if I wanted to drive back when he picked me up in it! I practically said "HELL YES"! ). And there was the time I had to take the kids to the ER and couldn't leave them alone to park so the valet put it in their free garage. Needless to say I like having the beep to make them think about what they're doing.

The parking brake beep must be an auto thing as I don't have it on the manual.

You probably do, it's only an "idiot" beep. Over 10 MPH or something with the E-brake on it will beep ya.

hmmmmm I know I've forgotten to take it off a couple times, but not sure if I got up to 10mph before noticing it was still on.

Anyone that does, probably needs that light on.

Lightbulb OEM Wiper Install

Is upgrading from non-intermittent to intermittent as simple as just swapping out the control?

Thanks,

Hi everybody,

Would love to add the intermittent wiper switch to my 09. Does this work on the 09 years also. Is the part number the same and are the instructions the same.

Thanks

bed/underbody lights on when unlock

this an addition to piercedtiger's bed light and underbody light mod.

so my idea when i started this mod was i wanted the option for everything to light up when i unlock my truck or open the door to get out.
it took a little bit of disassembly to investigate how to do it but what i found was going to the dome light in one constant hot and two grounds on is always grounded and the other is on a relay so the light comes on under certain circumstances. this is the wire i tapped in to we'll come back to it.

so the first thing i did when i pulled my lights out of the box was chop off the plugs as i did not want to use the control box that came with it. wired all the pos+ wires together this will take a little bit of trial and error with a battery to find which wires are which. there is only one neg- wire in my set of lights. I did not use relays for this mod as the lights only draw 3 amps total thats as much as a normal relay itself wasn't worth the extra wiring.
so i wired the pos+ side of the lights directly to the pos+ power point in the fuse box under the hood the neg- side of the lights go to the center point on my double throw switches.i then wired a constant ground to one side of the switch. all the wires came in the cab through a ruber gromit in the floor on the drivers side.

this is where that dome light ground comes in to play i found the easiest way to access it was in the drivers side piller its a light blue wire for my truck it may be different depending on model and year. this ground was wired to the other side of the switch.
this way you have the option of having the lights on weather the truck is on or not. (up position) off (middle position) or the lights with come on automatically with the dome light.(down position)

and here is a basic wiring diagram to make things a little more clear

and a video of it in action
