I am a carpenter, and currently use my ac 2.7 4X4 man, as my work truck. i am thinking about getting an alum enclosed. curb weight of 800 empty and tongue 80 pound. probably have 800 pound in it roughly every day. would it be stressing the 2.7 and clutch to much to pull 1600 every day? i am in Canada so the rear end end tsb has been done in factory.

The 4cyl, 5spd, 4x4 is rated for 3500lbs, so you should be fine to tow 1600. I have towed a 2500-3000lb boat, without a problem.

I would consider a tanden axle trailer if possible. This lowers your tounge weight a bit and I think you will prefer it in the long run. I feel that the 4X4 truck and trailer will be a good combination for your work. You may consider a rear anti-sway bar for the truck, about $125 from Addco, for windy days.
