I had a Casita 17ft and towed it with a Honda Passport and I had no problems! You will hardly know its behind you with the TACO.

The Tacoma...2011...V-6...Auto...rear spring tsb, factory tow package, and Firestone airbags.

    The trailer...2012 Casita 17SD.

The Tacoma does a fine job. I tow in the mountains almost constantly and there's no lack of power. I have the factory sway bar but no wdh. Handles great in cross winds.

Measurement from top of receiver to ground for Taco V6 AT5 4x4, and measurement from underside of Casita coupler to ground.

Can y'all help us out with this one?

these look like the ones available for rent on base down here. there are a few guys in the Oklahoma thread who have rented it and had no problems towing. One was a first gen owner and the other a 2nd gen.

If I remember right the distance from the top of the 2" ball to the ground should be 21 inches.

Casita has a website that answers a lot of questions. If you phone them they'll answer any questions you have. Nice people.

I am in the market for a Casita or Scamp.

I would prefer the 19' Scamp 5th wheel but would consider a 13' or 16'/17'. Did everyone purchase new? I am having trouble finding a good selection of used.

I bought mine new back in 2014. Hard to find used but if you do act fast! The used ones hold their value so well that for a couple grand more you can buy new.

A pic with the new alloys. My wife and I love this little camper. Just wish we had more off time to enjoy it!

Might also wanna check out Fiberglassrv.com. It's a forum based on all brands of small fiberglass campers. They have a classified section.

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.

I rent Scamp 16'S or Casitas from the Air Force Recreation departments once in a while. I tow them empty with my 99 2.7 4x4 5sp. I hates it. I don't tow far, maybe 40 miles. I usually rent them from a base near where we plan to vacation. I would not pull it loaded. It'lI run 70 mph with the traffic but, it' working. I recently bought a 2003 v6 Double Cab. We're looking at Casita 17s (interiors are a bit classier) or the Scamp 5th wheel. Readying to do a long term 'round the country trip.
