My father-in-law is trying to get rid of his 7X14 trailer. They moved up to a larger size. He has always used his duramax to haul it so he never had a problem.

I am thinking about getting it...to use it to tailgate at football games and just misc. things.

I won't be FILLING it full.

Just curious if anyone has had experience with these.

    It's the 7X14 tandem axle.

    http://www.haulmark.com/userfiles/HM_PPT7_SPEC(1).pdf

Says it weighs about 1900 pounds unloaded.

    I have a 2012 Sport 4x4 V6.

yes you could haul this trailer behind your truck you just need to be weary of over filling it. I will tell you this though be prepared to suck some gas because its like pulling a parachute behind you and make sure you get a brake controller if the trailer has brakes. (I cant imagine that it wouldn't) I pull a 6x12 single axle with no issues other then the gas suck. Before I got the break controller I had to break really early now that I have a controller I can pretty much break like I would with out the trailer.

I know gas is going to suck. I have a camper shell on my truck now so maybe it will help?

Thanks for letting me know! I'm just looking to put some random stuff in it and tow it around town.

I've towed a 7x21 dual axle before in a pinch, so yes it's possible. Just watch your weights and you should be fine.

Hey guys I'm needing to get an enclosed trailer 6-7x10-12 ft. within the next 6 months or so to move across country and not sure quite how it's gonna do through the mountains...going from San Diego CA to Norfolk VA. I've got a 13 dclb TRD sport w/ tow package 4x4 lifted 6 inches on 33's. Any opinions or recommendations?
Also would any of you advise single or dual axle?

You'll be fine. The mountains won't be fun, but you'll make it. Get a single axle for weight or a double axle for more payload. Most double axles come w/ brakes. Many single axles don't. You can usually order a cargo trailer and get it in about a month. I'd get one with brakes. You'll need a brake controller of course.

uploadfromtaptalk1400981385247.jpg is this not a brake control from factory ?
I have an aftermarket in my wife's 4 runner. But you think a dual axle will be best?

Only get a dual axle if honestly need one based on the weight you are hauling. Having a dual axle will create more rolling resistance also if both axles aren't perfectly aligned they will create additional resistance. So if you can get by with a single axle it would be recommended. Also if you're ordering it new you can get a single axle with brakes. I have them on my 6x12 enclosed and I highly recommend having them.

Gotcha not really sure exactly how much weight I'll be pulling but probably a good guess would be about 1200+ the trailer and truck itself. Don't plan on ordering it just gonna try to find a used one but I'll definitely get brakes with the mountains I'll be going up and down.

A single axle trailer will be fine for 1200 lbs I use mine to haul my 800 lbs motorcycle and a generator for camping and my camping gear. I haven't had any issues with my trailer. Just remember don't go buying some cheaply made trailer there are plenty of brands out there that build good trailers and you can't go wrong with a haulmark.

I'm not sure of all the brands but I'll do my research on one before I get it. Just looking for a 6-7x10-12 enclosed v nose.

I'm about to buy a 6x12 Homesteader. Looks very similiar to a Lark. Based on your comment, what are your thoughts on Homesteader?
