Where can I ger a set of black towing shackles???

I want to get 2 black tow shackles/d-rings. If you guy's know of a good deal, let me know.

I think Shrockworks has them for sale on their website for like $10 per shackle.

how do you plan on mounting these? ive never really looked but is there a place for them or is it some custom solution?

 

For recovery?

Do you have a hitch and a draw bar?
Remove the ball out of the draw bar and put the d-ring in there and obviously...put the draw bar in the receiver.

 

no i dont but i didnt think of that. i was picturing the tow hooks on the front bumper. nvm

 

What Jan said or you can get a shackle draw bar that comes with a shackle custom fit it to.

You can also (not really recommending this but it's an option) run the tow strap thru the receiver and use the shackle as a lynch pin in a pinch.

 

ya can attach em to the front tow hook portion on the 1 gens. Im doin that this week. also puttin one on the back. Probly go with 5/8 shackles, maybe even a little smaller, 3/4 looks like it would be a little big.

Smittybuilt also has black painted shackles. Be careful of getting a shackle that has a small diameter. If they break, they are dangerous. Almost everyone who discusses shackles, and me included recommend at least a 3/4" shackle as the stresses generated from recoveries, especially a snatch recovery, will overstress the smaller shackles. I got mine from 4 Wheel Parts for about $12.95.

 

Same here. They have other variations too. Some weird twisted ones.
