"Taco TRD" - Why?

About the "they are more and more like cars" is not totally off the mark. Hell, I bought my first taco in 2006 and loved the fact that it rode smoothly and handled / braked better than a frontier. In fact, about 3 years ago I went over an overpass, and the traffic was stopped. I slammed on my brake, veered right (into the shoulder on the overpass) and went about a carlength past the vehicle stopped over the hill.

If that had been anything but a sports car or one hell of a good handling truck I'd have plowed that little car in front of me. I don't think I've had died in that potential wreck but I was certainly glad my truck handled it so gracefully.

The 2nd gens have a higher tow rating, and that's based upon a bunch of factors, one part being the suspension. Adding air lift bags to the truck really improves brake bucking on heavy loads and keeps your front end down for safety. I've driven both 1st and 2nd gens, and both do great, but I like some of the new electronic tech in the 2nd gens and how it handles towing. It's just my preference, but to each his own anyways right?

TLDR: In a few years people will be talking about how crappy 3rd gens have become and how they don't make em like they used to

I agree 100%. For most people its more comfy to feel "like" a car in some ways. And yeah thats how you know your getting old. Its not just the trucks but they already dont make anything like they used to
