Tundra wheels on Taco

Will this rim from a 2002 Tundra fit a 2nd gen Tacoma (2009 SR5 DC 4x4) without any modification?

I think the specs on the tundra wheel are 16x7 15mm offset.

Mine are from an 06 tundra and fit fine on my 12....02 and 06 tundra has same lug pattern so i would say yeah..my tundra wheels actually stick out farther than my tacoma ones did too

 

I believe 4wheelin4bangin runs those with his skinnys. Shoot him a pm maybe

I'd still pm him quick cuz his are from a first gen but my guess is that most tacoma/tundra wheels will swap just fine. Don't forget pics when you're done

 

Will I be able to get TPMS sensors for these wheels to work with the Tacoma?

 

Offset is not optimal for 2nd Gen, but they will work depending on tire width. I wouldn't throw a set of 285's on them though.

TPMS should transfer right over from the stock Tacoma Alloys. If you have steel wheels, you'll either need to buy the proper transmitters, or you can get away with rotating the originals 180 degrees, however, any future tire installers need to be aware of that because they will break them.

Those wheels (2002) did not have TPMS from the factory.
Toyota's earliest TPMS was around 2004... wife has it on her Rav4, and it's an indirect system... reads from the ABS sensors and it's frankly not very good (a lot of parking lot/mall-crawling triggers the thing).
Feds didn't mandate TPMS until around 2007 or 2008, so AFAIK, no 1st gen Tundras have it.

 

Sorry to revive old thread. Saw some on local CL and was gonna throw some 285's on. Is the actual rim to skinny for a 285?

 

265s fit nicely, 285s are a bit over spec... really should be putting them on 8" wide wheels.
Plus with the 15mm offset, the 285s will likely rub, depending on your lift.
