So...I have searched but came up empty handed on the definitive answer im looking for. This is my dilemma...

The tires should be here monday afternoon (315/75/16) ...and right now I am in the process of tubbing and cutting. My question is, the wheels they are going on, are stock 16x7 tacoma wheels. (04 Tacoma) Now correct me if I am wrong, I'm 90% sure they are 4.5" stock backspace, plus my 1 1/4" spydertrax spacer. That brings me to 3.25" backspace and from what I am gathering, people are usually requiring at least a 3.5" backspace in order to clear the UCA.

Am I in a pickle here, or should I be ok to clear the UCA? Has anyone ran this exact size+wheel spacer combo. Anyone car to chime in?

    Thanks again,

Imo, I think you'll clear the UCA just fine. I'm more concern about running 315s in a 7" wide wheel. They typically call for 8-10" wide wheels.

You're correct that the 1st gen Tacoma wheels are 16x7 and roughly 4.5" bs. It might be time for some F5 wheels to go along with those monster tires;). Be sure to post some pics!

Thanks SCS for the reply! I know the 315's on a 7 arnt "ideal" but I also know I'm not the first person to be doing it. I will eventually switch wheels, but for now Ill have to stick with my stockers :)

However, I came across a picture of your guys's new beadlock simulated wheel. That might be something I'd consider! It looks really good!!

And to now answer my own question, the tires do clear the uca by about 3/4"! Plenty of room!

Excellent! I really like what you've done to your truck. My 1st gen looks a little similar to your build. Pics please[IMG].

Yeeahhhh.....they are a lot bigger than I anticipated, but so happy with them. Especially after cutting over an inch off my fenders, and cleaning up the box liner'd rockers. Thanks Jamie for your help! And Ryan!

My truck still smells like crazy bread. Yuck....
