Room for a larger tire in factory spare location?

Hey all. I looked around and couldn't find anything on the topic...and its cold and snowy so I currently don't want to lay down under my truck to find out. Is there any extra room in the factory spare location for a larger tire than stock? If so, how big will fit? I'm currently shopping lifts/tires and I won't go without a full size spare, but I'd rather not have it in the bed. FYI - its an '09 Double Cab Short Bed.

 

You can fit a 33" Tire in the factory location but you'll have to saw off the metal brackets in the surrounding area.
