TBF - the hat there is a prototype - the bill is all wrong for sure. Just got sewing machine today so played with a reuseable bag in attempting a hat to see if I could. So excited now to make a REAL one.

In all seriousness an ideal tire for these trucks id say is a 35x11.50. Very limited choices unfortunately. But one of the best tires I have ever ran offroad (even on road considering how aggressive they are, are not too bad) is available in this size. Nitto Trail Grapplers. I will die on this hill.

Edit: I'd love to try the Geolandar G003 MT though...

i thought I cooked my clutch on 35s after a couple years with 3.90s but it's still hanging on 5+ years later lol. I did regear after the first few years, driving across the state in 3rd gear sucked lol

Big Tire is laughing all the way to the bank by convincing people that 33s are “small”, and that 35s are the bare minimum to go off pavement. A decent driver can go very far on 31s, especially on these trucks that have such good clearance from the factory. I’ve said it before, but they used to run the Rubicon on 31s and open diffs before everyone thought they needed tons and 40s for it. The trail might’ve gotten a bit harder since then with erosion, but still.

tbf 35s are the bare minimum for a lot of jeep/Tacoma owners who have zero wheeling experience and don't know how to pick tires placement and lines on lil ones

 

I’m just saying I’ve had a lot of fun on 31s and 32s. No im not running KOH, but the important thing is to just get out and explore.

You realize you are contradicting yourself damn near 100% compared to shit you've said about these trucks; whether it was the weak differentials, the requirement for a locker, the need for large tires, and more.

You are completely contradicting yourself and Kira basically pointed out that you're repeating shit we've stated here before.

 

Yea it’s one thing if an experienced driver truly starts to reach the limit of their 33s and goes up a size to run some harder trails, and that may be the case with people in this thread. But it can also be a crutch for poor line choice like you said.
