You have any info on getting steering wheel controls working? I'm setting something up and trying to figure it out.

I have not tried yet but I am hoping it is plug and play as it advertises full compatability.

I ended up actually canceling the seicane order and purchasing a Dasaita unit from eBay instead as it has 4gb of ram and a 64gb storage with a PX6 cpu.

    https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/254286280969

I will report back once I have received and installed the unit. It is coming from China so I'm not real optimistic on their timelines.

I had a Daisata head unit in my Jeep and it was terrific.

I think you're going to like it.

Awesome Im excited now. I have a pioneer installed at the moment that Im not unhappy happy with but I just cant stand all the cheap dash kits and lack of integration with the dash. I have a full system with a PDX 5 channel amp so I switched to the Dasaita for the DSP mainly. I was worried the basic android head unit would have sub par audio quality so I will find out if the DSP makes enough of a difference to match the pioneer or at least come close.

My current Android unit (an Eonon) has the DSP and it works great.

Tons of customizable settings for your sound profile.

By chance are you running an aftermarket amp with the preamp outputs?

I'm curious on the sound quality with the preamps.

The unit just shipped out today so I'll see how long this Chinese shipping takes .

I purchased one of these also. I did a lot of research on the wiring and the only thing I could see that would be an issue is the rear camera. The android unit puts out a 12v for the rear camera but the stock camera is 6v. I plan to just use a voltage converter to drop it to 6v.

I did purchase the seicane unit but I bought the 8 core/4gb ram/32gb rom unit.

My truck came with the camera in the rear view mirror and I plan on keeping it there. I wanted to keep the wiring as simple as possible and I don't have any issues with the screen in the mirror. Thanks for the input though.

Have you installed the seicane unit?

which stock functions are you hoping to retain? i’m thinking about getting one to. i’d like to keep the steering wheel controls and hands free mic. i’d also like to integrate my rear view camera in it and have gps. however, i have an iphone, so would i need an additional adapter?

Really the only stock functions I intend on keeping are the steering wheel controls. My camera is in the mirror and the unit comes with a mic and gps antena that I plan on using.

This particular unit says it does not have built in Carplay or Android auto support so I purchased a carplay dongle on eBay for around 35 dollars. I'll see how well it works when it shows up. With the unit being Android based it should be able to do just about anything you want really.

Surprisingly no. It shipped from China the 23rd and is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow the 27th. I'll post some pictures of the unit before I install it in the next day or two.

Already ran into an issue. The hazard switch doesn't fit. If I take it out of the housing it matches the holes well but the bracket doesnt fit the Dasaita unit.

Do the older Tacoma radios have a different bracket to hold the switch in?

Mine is a 2013 so maybe the units without the standard screens came with something different?
