It's plenty solid and we never felt unsafe sleeping in it or driving withit. It dose feel much more top heavy with it up there. Took a big hit in MPG's as well. The down side is every time you want to use the truck you have to pack up camp. We got a CDN M101 to mount he tent on so now the rack just collects dust in the grage.

Awesome, I just don't want to spend $500 on it... If there was a "DC" tacked onto the end of your location then I would totally be knocking at your door offering you money ;)

That really is a nice way to do it since the entire back wall of the annex zips open to give access to the vehicle. You can access everything you need and move through the tent or vehicle without ever having to go outside.

Why would you cook in the annex? If its raining then just put it on your tailgate and park under a tree or something. Tarps help too

I set my tent up once so that the annex flipped out over the back. That way the annex wrapped around the back and you could leave the tailgate down and sleep people in the back of the truck too. The only thing that is bad at that point is the tent is width wise accross the rack and overhangs the sides a little more.

Here's an idea of the width with the Autana mounted to open over the back. It's on my trailer in this photo but you might be able to get a sense of how it would fit over the bed. And the fact that yours in a 2nd Gen with a bit more width than my 1st Gen it might not be bad at all. I think it actually might fit really well to open over the back.

But you'll need a rack of somekind regardless, right? The orientation of the tent won't affect that one way or the other. It's really down to which part of the truck you want better access to, the bed or the cab. If you open it over the rear, I think it could still fit just fine.

X2, plus then you wouldn't need to cook in your annex, if the tent hangs over the back its basically an awning to cook under.

Edit: Just like he did, 2nd pic down

Gotcha. now it makes sense why it would mean more money.

Any time you guys experience any problems please let us know. We do have people that check our tents at the factory but some things can be missed.
Through what we experienced last year we have changed a few things around and added to our product lines and we have also made a new line of an upgraded version (summit package) to all of our tents.
If you have problems that need attention please let us know as we do have a 2 year warranty on all of our tents. We will not nickel and dime it to death we will just replace it if need to be.
The mattress I can not do anything about. There would be too many different versions to keep in stock for all the different folks..lol
Please let us know if you need anything,

    Bobby

We do apologize for that...We did get a crappy shipment of those. It does happen from time to time. (hope not anytime soon though...) Glad it all worked out. By the way that is our original covers. We had another company make some for us and the feel short of our quality.

    Thank you again,

    Bobby
