Had the parts and finally got around to installing the HiLift Jack mount. There is a thread on this here and everything worked out as Benson X described.

    Parts

    First Install

    HiLift-2_aacdd76dd04e64ada541ff60d523723b2a1371a8.jpg

Looked at my mount and I have the extra large base plate and after drilling a hole in the plate and getting a slightly longer bolt I was able to put the plate in also.

    HiLift-3_9c378c5679194af259af4ed882b4ed29c85fbd14.jpg

Now for something that I have hesitated to put up. Here is how to not use a HiLift jack.:eek::eek: I wanted to change a tire n January as well as try out the HiLift jack for the first time. I had the plastic base plate on and it was in the garage. Put it on the skids and began to jack it up (I am old school and know how these older types of jacks work). Noticed my angle was not quite correct and let it back down and then readjusted inward. Got it almost all the way up and the plastic base slid out and pushed the jack into the door. Quickly got out the bottle jack (it was still suspended in the air) and jacked it up enough to get the HiLift out. Finished concrete is absolutely not a surface you want to use one of these on. Fortunately insurance company had no issue with fixing it and it only required the door skin (lucky it didn't break the window or damage the internals). Even more fortunately the game warden was out of town for another week and never found out about it.:p:p:p So a word to the wise, these jacks really require a lot of care when in use, they most certainly can damage things in a hurry.

Sorry for not replying earlier. Have looked at doing so a few times but just not sure. Would certainly like to but it also means new rims. Another reason is the off-road trailer that I got. It has the same exact tires as the truck so that is another reason for sticking with them. And finally, I went hunting a month or so ago and punctured a tire. The new one made the truck higher on one side so I ended up having to buy a full new set.:eek::eek: Just couldn't justify or afford the new rims also. Maybe when I get serious about regearing I will give it another look. These tires will get me where I need to go for now.

Why would you want new wheels, the ones you have are sweet! You could go as big as you want with those. :D 16 in tires cost alot less too.

I agree. Read some good stuff on Sierra Expeditions about big tires and off-roading and there conclusion was that 16" tires were optimum for off-roading.

Looks good Arrow, need to post at least one front view in this thread, almost missed the link to the thread where you did put them.

As for the different rims, probably my fault for some of the thought on that. I had to change mine out due to backspacing and the width of my Duratracs.

No need, Supercharger, gear change and other items come to mind before tires. Ready to go off-roading more than anything else as well as some camping/fishing.

Thought this one was OK. Did you want something different to show off the grill?

Some additional pictures of the trailer.

Installed fridge, inverter, inverter controller, water tank and fittings, battery bank and Ecotemp Hot Water heater. A whole bunch of wiring up also took place as well as modifications each time I decided it needed to be done differently.

Nice job. Have you used the water heater yet? If so, how did it do?

Got to work some bugs out of it. Used it before when I had it on my swing-gate and I got scalding hot water without any problems. Put it in the trailer and gave it a test and only luke warm. Not quite sure what the problem is as it was burning propane properly and pumping the water through. Ran out of time so got to check it out again later.

Where was the water source when you had it on the truck, verse inside the trailer right next to the heater. From what I can remember, I think there is something to with the water source tempature and how fast it flows through the heater.
I'm not sure about it because I haven't tried mine yet.
