squeaky leafs?

    Frickin auto-correct!! squeaky leafs..

    WD-40 seems like it may make the problem worse after attracting dirt and such. Anyone got a better product? (can't find a solid answer)

    Got new TSB leafs and they making a racket, but silent when wet after pressure washed.

    Friction pads are perfect though, so why the tube?

    I put multi purpose grease on the friction pads once a year. Works like a charm.

    Silicone will not attract dirt, but spraying with anything like that is only short term. Leaf pads are best.

    Good call.


    So I sprayed the leafs with fluid film, no change. Think it's the top or bottom shock bolts.

    Some stuff...
    I think Oz-T did some mod with bicycle tube rubber or something to remedy rear leaf squeak. Hit him up in PM or do some searching.

    Let the springs soak up the Fluid Film for a couple hours then took them out for a good stretching out down some real shitty streets to work the stuff in good. Think it did the trick. Wonder how long this Fluid Film will work out? At $10 bucks a can this stuff could be a damn good fix. I'll report back...

    It is a bit sloppy. What's your method? Spread the leafs and jam in some grease?

    I chock the front wheels.
    Jack the truck up at the hitch.
    Spread the leafs with a screw driver or pry bar.
    Spread grease with a popsicle stick ONLY on the contact patches (4 in total) near the retention clips on the bottom leaf.

    You can put grease on the overloads if you feel you need it but unless you haul or flex the rear a lot, its not necessary.

    Tools:
    Jack
    wheel chocks
    big screw driver or pry bar
    Multi purpose grease of your choosing (mine is tan in color)
    Popsicle sticks



    Again, i do this every spring and it works for me for about 11-12 months
