Leaf spring bushing help

    My truck sounds like a really old trailer going down the road. The slightest movement and the rear is squeaking. I'm pretty sure it's coming from all four bushings. Can they simply be greased or do the need to be replaced. And if that is the case what is the best replacement bushing kit.

    A bunch a cool stickers, a bada ass MetalMiller Tx Longhorns grill emblem painted Hemi Orange, JBA long tube headers with o2 sims, Diff breather mod, Red LED interior lights, Fancy head unit that plays ipod n movies, Also DIY install factory stuff like, factory cruise control, factory intermittent wipers, OME nitro struts with 886x springs and toy tec top plate, JBA high caster UCA's for better alignmnet and dey beefier too, Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs in da rear with the gear, U bolt flipper, Ivan Stewart TRD rims with 33" K Bro 2's, some bad ass weather tech floor liners so I don't muck up my interior, an ATO shackle flipper for mo travel in da rear wit the gear, also super shiny Fox 2.0 shocks back there too, all sorts of steal armor for bouncing off of the rocks like demello sliders, AP front skid, trans skid, n transfer skid, demello gas tank skid, and a tough as nails ARB bumper with warn 8k winch, I'm sure there's more
    Or maybe the springs are squeaking and need a lil WD-40 wash down.

    Thanks for the help. WD-40 didn't cure it and they are OEM springs with over 190,000 miles. Might be time for some all pro's

    I'll have allpro standard springs for sale soon. I need a heavier spring, so I think I'm going with OME with an add a leaf if you're interested.

    My rear leafs squeaked like crazy at 60k. I put pieces of a bike tire innertube between them and that solved it (oil did not), but not long after I replaced the packs with General HDs.

    I was already thinking all pro for lifting my truck and now with the squeak and 190k miles I think springs could use being replaced

    The idea of doing preventative maintenance on new springs is a good one. Back in my street rodder days guys would install Teflon sliders between leaves to keep them from binding and squeaking. You could get strips in widths to match the springs and you could also get Teflon buttons the required drilling a small hole on the ends of the leaves. Chassis Engineering was the company, but I have no idea if they're rven still in business.

    Sorry, I just looked it up. Chassisengineeringinc.com has the button sliders. Speedway Motors sells the the Teflon liners in both flat and channeled styles. Google "leaf spring liners" and you can find more info.

    Easy fix, spearate the spring with a flat head screw driver, clean the gunk out between leafs with shop rag, regrease with heavy duty suspension grease. only took about 1 hour or so and will probably hold the noise over till you get new springs . Good luck !

    It seems that one of the advantages of a spring liner over simply greasing the springs is the fact the grease will cause the dirt and dust to accumulate and then making a mess in hot conditions. For anyone that offroads in dusty conditions it might be something to consider.

    Hasn't been an issue yet. my truck has seen dirt miles on multiple runs with no squeaks anymore. 190k and he's going to buy new springs anyways. it's an easy fix but each his own I guess

    think I might have to buy some of this. have plans on buying some new leafs this summer and don't wont the squeak everybody talks about. just not sure on which ones dakars or boss.

    I may be moving to Texas soon and Meridian or Jackson are along my route there, that is if I can get to this before the move.
