Shouldn't be a lot of extra weight though, bumper weighs 110, and disrtibuted between the coils that's 55 lbs for each spring, it'd be like having a passenger 24/7.

Hmm, I don't like soft so I'll go with 883 instead of the 882, Thanks.

I believe so, on headstrong offroads website they list the 883 as a 1st gen coil but the SKU says tacoma 05+

Ahh you could run it as long as you like
If you didnt wanna buy coils though id say at least bump the coil mounts up to the top notch
But i have a feeling that the front end may want to nose dive slightly when braking
    Not sure though
Only one way to find out I suppose

883s where originally developed for the FJ cruiser and to be used on the 2nd gens. But found they work very well on 1st gens and are a bit too soft for 2nd gens.

It'll ride like shit but you can run a plate bumper on the stock coils with 5100s. I wouldn't do it for long.

Eibachs are the strongest coil they make for our trucks that are a standard coilover coil. They are 620lbs vs 550 and 590 I think from OME 882s and 883s

Not exactly. The 885 and 886 are too long. You'd be worse off then with the eibachs.

Stock ones I'm not totally sure about. Think they are so soft it wouldn't be worth it. Think they are around 500lbs last I read.

On topic of coils. What ome coils should i use on my v6 extended cab with no plate bumper to get a full 3" lift using 5100s?

882s are the tallest of the OME coils, they also have a lower spring rate than the 883s, so they'll ride a little better with less weight up front.

Stuff and things that make it better.
I've been playing with the idea of switching out my 882's with some 869's when I add the second battery up front. (882’s 395mm 500 lbft/in vs 869’s 380mm 590 lbft/in). The 869's are made for the Prado 150 series's, I'd have to look at the coil seats to see if they could fit before I made a decision.

I think the correct coil depends on what you're using your truck for more than the truck itself.

My 882s with a lot of weight up front still don't feel all that soft. But yet, they compress when I want them too leaving the front end flatter and better for (at least slow) offroad. I've wheeled with people with the Eibach coils, detrimental to offroad performance IMO. 883s are 590, Eibachs are 620, 882s are 500lbs but longer.

For a good refrence, check out old Brett's build (BDN) here

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/1st-gen-builds/305098-bretts-average-build-thread.html

He went from 881s to 883s, and then to 882s with a good comparison between them.

Well then, after reading through his build I think 883's are my best bet.
    Thanks for the info

Hmm, I'm tempted to just get the coils and try them on my 5100's, but I thought I had read not to run OME coils on 5100's because of the valving?

It's not bad, it's just not great, and it's fairly soft (Lots of body roll).
