How do you like the ORI struts, have you been able to compare them to anything other than stock?

My buddy sent me that photo. He put that there haha.
Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to compare them to anything else. It took a while, but I've finally dialed them in to where they ride perfect on road and off. Before I'd have to increase pressure to get the desired ride height on the road then drop pressure for more down travel off road. With the different adjustments I've gotten them just right without having to open them up and mess with the internal adjustments.

Here is a link to the BAMF ORI thread where it's explained a bit more.

This is such a great build and it keeps getting better. Thank u for documenting your mods in depth. It definitely answered some questions I had about upgrading to 35" tires. I'll be using your build as a reference guide in the future. Recently became one of my favorite builds here. Sick truck and keep up the great work Nate!

    Check out the build
    Nate,

Have you had any issues with the intake in the wheel well before the snorkel? We just got some rain and I noticed water makes it up in there. I hope ARB releases the new Safari snorkel soon.

Just trying to pay it forward :) It's because of all the other builds on TW I researched that I was able to tackle some of the installs.
Honestly, it only rained a few times before the snorkel went on. When it was though, the water wasn't really an issue with the open intake in the wheel well. I took the stock intake off to see if it made it to the filter and it was very minimal. Most of the water was resting the ribbed groves of the intake tube. What was more of a concern was when out was out and about on muddy trails. Chunks of mud were getting thrown up in there. Thats what lit the fire under my ass to get it installed.

I'd say just keep an eye on the filter. Unclamp it after a day driving in the rain and see if water is getting in there then decide if you are comfortable with what is there.
    Thanks! :mudding:

A few random shots of things that have been going on...

A few of the beginning stages of doing my dual battery setup. Blue Sea ML-ACR, circuit breaker, automotive relays and fuse block
    [IMG]

A bunch of shitty photos of a wheeling trip. No good action shots though. Should have tasked one of the A-drivers with camera duty.

Bad ass little rig with a diesel swap that would chug along up anything.

The following week I smelled something funny while driving. Thought I had finally tore a CV boot but nope! When I looked at it there was diff oil scattered all under the truck! Fuuuuuug. :annoyed: It's always something...

This was that thick and nasty Lucas gear oil
    [IMG]

Don't know why it blew, maybe water or something got into it during the wheeling trip :notsure:

Part number for front left diff/axle seal is 90311-47012
I now keep an extra front left and right seal just in case they one blows again.

Clean it up and try to set it the same depth as the one you took out
    [IMG]

Then I had to make these to mount my nitrogen tank with Quick Fist tank clamps
Got hardware from Lowes. They are bolts with a circular head in the "specialty" bolt bin. Then trimmed some fender washers so fit in the bed rail slots enough to fit but not rotate.

Ended up making 3 to get it mounted nice and snug without much play then just bungeed the bottom.

Picked up stuff from powder coat. It's the same color/texture as the rest of my stuff. Got a few more things from Tyler at Pelfreybilt. Group 31M battery cage, some bedside supports and few minor things. No battery yet, but for future expansion.

Also got Prinsu roof rack. Just mocking it up to see how it looks. I've had it for a while but has been sitting around waiting for PC and time to install. Seems to have updated the design since I received mine though.

    ????

Ohh yeah, thanks to Dakota, I just realized that Rock Therapy is May 27-31 and not MARCH 27-31. I thought it had passed and missed it that weekend while on a camping trip at the Grand Canyon. If I end up going, I'll need to ramp up the wrenching time to get some things ready in time for that :spy:

Yeah man, that'd be sweet! But then you wouldn't be able to get me to leave you alone and bother you to use your bad ass carpentry/wood working skills to build me a bed platform storage system! HAHA! I'm serious. You really do have some badass skills.

I was looking through your build the other day and saw you post something like "things to get done before Rock Therapy" or something. Then was like, why is he posting that? I thought it had passed and missed it so after looking again, I realized i was wrong. Hope to make it though.
Thanks again for helping me out with the roof rack info. Helped out a lot. Will be updating that soon.
Thanks! I've pumped the brakes on slaving away at it since TDS but now that I may be able to make Moab, I need to ramp up the work cycles again to get shit done. Hope it works out

Hahaha shucks. Honestly it would be so easy, we can get the guides and everything and design in then just whip them out on the CNC. The only thing is I don't think anyone really makes bed platforms out of wood :notsure: with all the exposure to the elements and such. Waterproof MDF maybe? Or laminate... Oooh metal laminate :spy: hahaha

Anyways yes, rock thereapy. Be there.

Wood would be fine. Lots of guys make DIY platforms out of wood. It never rains where I'm at. Plus, the Softopper keeps things nice and dry when it does rain. I was thinking of just sealing the wood with some treatment. Some guys Rhino line it also.
Sure does! I wasn't too stoked on the initial design but Zach did a great job at listening to everyone's feedback. After seeing the revamped version I was in. Since getting mine, I think it's been redone again like the one Bob(NYCO) has.

I couldn't stand the initial one. I've got access to a plasma table and I might design my own. I want something more basket like and lower profile

Haha! Yeah, I'm definitely on the road a lot. Had the truck for almost two years and am coming up 48K miles soon! I drive between Ventura and Fontana regularly so you'll probably see me taking the 210/101 route.
