I want to get 5100s with Eibach 620s to level the truck and get a better ride.
So it will be a very mild lift and not super expensive.
The question is, how do you guys convince your wifes when you're about to spend money on your truck?
I'm sure I can come up with something, but I want to hear your creativity!

Just "man" up and tell her what you told us! You don't need creativity, just honesty.

OK, but I would tweak it a little

Just find good deals. That way you can tell her you're getting things at a discount. That's how I convince my boss. I've got a $5,000 ish AR10, but got discounts on eifle & glass, so wife was cool with it

Bday/anniversary/Christmas. This time of year, if bday and anniversary are far away, and u have money from taxes, take $500 for u and $500 for her and tell her its play money. I typically just upgrade when stuff wears out, but i have an 05 and u have a 14 so gas is all that wears out on urs.

Also i think wheelers off road has the RHA 5100 front pair for $179 and eibach coils for $169 iirc so $340-$350 free shipping i think too. If not downsouthmotorsports.com runs aboit the same price with free shipping

Steal money from her purse, when she showers.
Also steal from her friends purses when they come to visit.

If it is in the budget there should be no convincing needed.
Just remember to be understanding when she wants to splurge on herself.

    Good Lord!

I don't "convince my wife" for anything I want to do. I don't spend money on toys that we can't afford or selfishly spend all the play money on myself. If you've got those two boxes checked and you can afford the mods then don't try and convince her - tell her what you're going to do, there's nothing to discuss.

Take a couple hundred dollars out of your check each paycheck and set it aside till you have enough. Least that is how I do it.

Did she not know that you were an automotive enthusiast when y'all got married? My wife knows and let's me do what I want (within reason of course) but I think she also knows I'm not gonna go all crazy sinking $ into it like it's some serious trail rig. It is my dd so I have to keep it simple for the family. But I do get approval before I spend any big bucks as I would expect her to do as well for anything big. So I say just sit and talk to her and if you can't or she won't allow it provided y'all have the $ then you may have problems with your marriage. At least I couldn't live like that, but I do or have known some guys that need that kind of control or they'd be in the poor house with some sic ass truck.

And I do this also, save a bit here and there when I can. Mostly any money that I come up with that was extra and not part of our budget so she can't really say anything then anyway.

Start a small business on the side, like lawn care or something which requires a truck. Then you can write the truck and mods off on your taxes (partially). Keep the overhead costs low - no tractors or employees... She'll be happy to have those write offs at tax time when you have money to spend on things she wants.

Good, interesting, and funny to hear your thoughts so far.
I usually have to bring it up a few times before she knows I'm serious about it.
To her it's just a waste of money, which i can understand. We all have our priorities.
I have some money saved up and was thinking about putting some stuff on craigslist to get some more. I just don't like to buy something in that price range without running it by her first.
Keep up the good ideas and thanks for your replies!
