Have some help you or jack up your truck and remove old shocks. Bring the old and new shocks to a mechanic and have them switch it out for you. Most shops charge $25 - $50 to do the swap.

If you can order new springs do that before install , trust me the ride on stock TRD springs on 5100 was horrible to say the least.

Soft and not sure footed is how I would describe it, And I still had the sway bar on...

Get some new springs and set the lift on the 5100 lower.

That seems to be the most used set up from people that use 5100 up front.

Someone with that setup can chime in.

I would get new springs but as I am in only high school I can't afford that at the moment and it would most likely give me a 3" lift and I would then have to get new UCAs

the 5100s can be set at stock height. so dont buy a lift spring. problem solved.

Yes I understand, Buy a stock height or lift spring and adjust the 5100s accordingly.

this is a job you really want to do right the first time.

Stock suspension components like struts, Shocks, springs and leafs are really not intended for lift applications.

Huge aftermarket marketplace for direct fit lift components.

Do yourself a favor and spend some time in this thread with all the different types of setups they have.

Just make sure you align the shock and plate like it was on the old one

    Just washed
Did mine and my buddies T4R TE, the swap/install isn't bad. Took out the front assy and took it to the neighborhood shop to have them swap the shocks and then reinstall.
