New guy here First time Tacoma owner LOL

Ok i just sold my 2005 Chevy 2500hd Diesel and got a great deal on a 06 tacoma access cab pre-runner... This is my first Toyota so i have a lot to learn....

First do i have a 1st or 2nd gen truck? its a 2006 pre-runner

What is the best intake and exhaust or mod?

Are Throttle Body Spacer really a waste of money?

And what a good coil spacer?

I have spent hours looking and reading thru post on hear but can get a confirmed answer...

You have a 2nd gen Tacoma.

The absolute best CAI and Exhaust for your new Toyota is the TRD or URD systems. There the only brands that actually HELP the performance.

The only thing you will get out of a throttle spacer is a nice whistle... in other words does nothing.

I would stay away from spacers especially if going off roading

Its quite a big chance between an American truck to a Japanese truck. We want you to to start looking in the right direction and spend your money as best as possible.

The guys have ya covered pretty well on naming brands of suspension.... but what will be the intended use. That will help us give some better recommendations.
As for exhaust, its personal preference, but I love my Stainless cat-back JBA. I picked it up at a great price from the good guys over at URD(urdusa.com). They also have a pretty sweet TRUE cold air intake that mounts the filter behind the grille and in front of the radiator, which id recommend if you're in a dry climate. Dont bother with a TB spacer, they're pretty much worthless.

Welcome. BTW, The intake on your truck is technically "cold air" setup from factory since it gets air from the right front fender well. Aftermarket CAI's are not worth it IMHO.

 

Sweet im liking this site already,,, As for suspension its a daily driver just want to get a little more lift for 31's or 33's maybe.... I live in a southern california,, i just want to get the best MPG's,,, i know putting on bigger tires is going to affect that and that will be the last thing i do depending on MPGS after addons,,,thanks again guys

Well If your not going to do alot of offroading some would say do Spacers. BUT thats not the best way to go. Really if you want to fit 33" tires you better go for it

As for the MPGs... you dont loose that much. Not enough to worry about.


I have 33" tires with a 3.25" lift and I probably lost about .5 MPG
