Anyone else have this problem and any ideas on what to do about it? It's a blue letter display and impossible to see if the suns out. Is there lighting control on the stereo? Dimmer switch is maxed.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Maybe fab a hood over the stereo. [IMG]

Dimmer has no control of the display, only the buttons. You can adjust the brightness in the display settings...

But my guess is one of these questions!

    Are you wearing polarized glasses?

    Are your headlights/running lights on?

Either one of those will make it darn near impossible to see the display.

I thought about it and it's a possibility. Rather not go there but doesn't seem like I have much choice. I can't believe the engineers missed this.

I keep the headlights in the on position all the time. Ruining lights are on no matter what position headlight switch Is in.

Im not sure on the 12' headlight switch, but on my 14' I have -->>OFF>>>DLR>>>RUNNING LIGHTS>>>HEADLIGHTS

anything after the DRL setting activates the night mode for the stereo and interior panel lights.

put switch in DRL setting during the day and you'll be much happier

okay, i googled the 2012 switch and it appears that it is not the same as mine. I'd suggest that during the day you just turn off the headlights and your radio will run in the "day" setting.

Everything is VERY dim if headlights are on, the truck thinks you are driving at night and therefore dims the display so it not so bright in your face.

Nothing was missed by engineers. This thing is more than bright enough when your headlights are off. Drive a day with them off and you'll see its fine. My polarized sunglasses have no effect on display, fyi.

You can set the display to run in Day Mode even when the lights are on. I did this so I could see it when driving when it's raining and lights are required to be on.
