yup. once I get my new wheel bearings in. I might need to remove my sliders and skids so they can perform a more "accurate" inspection.

i've already taken my truck in for suspected frame rust a few years and they proceeded to brush it off...hopefully i'll get some vindication now.

So...a new frame? I didn't think you had that much rust going on? Damn...that would seem like such a major undertaking:eek:

I hope it's not too troubling cause it's a TSB and not necessarily a recall. When I had a Nissan, the dealership gave me a hard time when I took it in and even showed the print out. Lazy bastards.

Didn't get that letter yet. Still waiting on the second letter from Toyota about the leaf springs so I can have those changed out.

A new frame wouldn't be as bad as it sounds...if it does come to that, i'd take all my extra stuff to make it easier on them.

I got the leaf spring one too...too bad it didn't come sooner...I do like my Dakars.

On certain motorcycles (touring bikes : goldwings and rt's) its a pita and a chore to swap frames. I can only imagine how it is on our trucks.

I wonder if the dealerships on island have a skilled enough mechanic to actually do the swap.

Hey guys, I will be moving to Oahu this summer and I was just wondering if any of you have any problems with rust on your chassis. Thanks!

I'm thinking NO... and if they attempt to do it...your shit's gonna be F'd. Cross threaded or un-tightened bolts, bad wiring and routing. I can just imagine the nightmares peeps are gonna have...

Anyone have recommendations on mounting All Pro sliders? They have different mounting methods than the BAMF ones. I tried mocking it up and none of the holes align up with the frame so I may have to drill all the holes or weld em. Appreciate any help with those who have these All Pro ones.

Yea exactly right! I'm probably gonna have to put everything back to stock so these Bozo's don't mess up my engine mods including all my gauges installed since all is tied in to the engine.. Toyota master tech my butt.... Some can't even do an oil change right.

I noticed your picture that you posted when you picked up your sliders had individual feet on the posts. When I went to get mine on Friday, the mounting section didn't look like yours but it was like a whole solid plate that bolts to the frame. Hopefully all pro didn't send you the wrong stuff.

Yeah I think i saw yours when I grabbed mine. I think you got the heavy duty one with L-shaped mounting bracket. I have the standard one so it requires more drilling. Should've got the one you got
