Just a little wiring to make it compatible with the 4-pin harness. It's not too complicated. You have to shave a little off of the edges of the hole in the dash to make the larger switch fit in, but it's all hidden and you can't see it.

No problem! I like it a lot actually. Normally I wouldn't mind since the button locks in when it's turned on, but the difference between it sitcking out and locked in is so small that it's kinda hard to tell with a quick glance while driving, so I wanted an actual indicator light. If you follow the link I posted above, you'll need a diode and some wire but it only takes like 5-10 minutes to solder up and then a few minutes to shave a little off of the dash opening to get the larger switch to fit in. When I unplugged the stock switch the connection fell back into the dash and it actually took me longer to fish the 4-pin connection back out than everything else together

If you want to do a legit swap you can also just buy the 6-pin harness but that was too much work for my lazy ass lol the switch was about $40 on Amazon iirc. you can get the switch and harness together for like $80 some places online.

 

Same here--I can tell they're on, but they couldn't put an indicator light on the switch or on the cluster like the headlights have? Really?

I have a running list...heated mirrors are on it too. A $34,000 midsize truck and they couldn't even do that? A friend used to have a low end 2010 Corolla and she even had them!

 

haha yea. I don't quite get it too. I know they're all creature comforts, but at a day in age where automatic headlights are becoming the norm, why the hell cant I have a light that tells me when my fogs are on? especially when there are two switches right next to it that have indicator lights..

 

Funny. My '98 Sonoma had that. It's ok. Till it breaks. I do agree that if they are going to keep the Tacoma 'basic', the price needs to drop. But people buy them, so I understand why the price stays up.

Does this work with OEM DTRL? I know it has been asked about and doesn't work with #45, but what about this one (#30)?

I'm looking for a GEN 1 turn signal mod to make them fog lights. I want to make my factory driving lights my turn signals. I would like to make the factory turn signals that are in the front bumper LED.

 

Look on the first page, there is a link to the mod (#35 I think). But the mod assumes you have the factory inverter, otherwise you'll have to put one in.

 

Blacked out my badges today. Looks awesome.
